Digital Desk, San Francisco. Apple is expected to announce the iPhone 14 series in or around September. Now a new report suggests that the Pro models will come with major camera upgrades. The current iPhone Pros are being shipped with 12MP camera. However, the iPhone 14 Pro model will have a 48 MP camera.
According to TrendForce, the iPhone 14 Pro series (provisional name) is expected to feature a 48-million-pixel primary camera, which Apple will release this year, reducing it by 15 percent to 12 million-pixel products in 2022.
Recently, Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo also claimed that the 2022 iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max will shift to a hole-punch cutout for the camera. Apple has reportedly advised major US carriers to prepare for launching eSIM-only smartphones by September this year. It is possible that Apple may remove the physical SIM card slot starting with some iPhone 14 models instead of some iPhone 15 models as originally rumored.
It is also said that there will be support for two eSIM cards, thereby ensuring dual SIM functionality. Removing the SIM card slot may further improve water resistance. The next flagship series, the iPhone 14 line-up, will come with up to 2TB of storage. Apple will adopt QLC flash storage for next year’s iPhones and will increase the capacity to 2TB thanks to the new storage technology.
